Distance: 74 miles. Climbing: 5250ft. Difficulty: 6/10
The Kent RideIt starts from the shiny, modern Cyclopark facility just off the A2 and heads off into the eastern end of the hilly bit of Kent.
There’s four fairly long climbs involved, up Tinkerpot Lane, Grove Road, Mote Road and the mile long, 8% Vigo Hill and it becomes a pretty good test through the middle section which features a decent amount of climbing.
The final section that heads back towards the Thames estuary beyond Gravesend is equal parts a natural wonder and industrialized horror but the roads themselves are good to ride and by this point in the ride are rolling and fast.
Early season weather & fitness will also contribute to making this a harder day than it may seem on paper but it’s another well planned & run RideIt event along quiet and scenic roads.
